It looks like the Mets will be making their first major logo update in 2017.
In a post on the Mets official website, the team posted a series of changes to the club’s iconic logo.
First up, the new logo features the “Mets” trademark.
This marks the first time the club has ever used the name in its name.
The team also has changed the number on the upper left side of the logo from 6 to 9, while the numbers below it are all the same.
It’s the first change to the Mets’ official logo since it was released back in April.
Next, the Mets have added the word “TBA” to the upper right corner of the new name.
This is the first MLB team to add a tic to their name after being the subject of a trademark dispute with Nike.
And finally, the bottom of the club logo has been altered to read “MMM.”
This new version of the name is the same as the one we saw in 2015, and it is also a rebranding of the Mets mascot.
It may not be a big deal, but the name change will definitely bring some extra buzz to the ballpark.
